The Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey (SHCC-NJ) announced the addition of two Board Members to the Board of Directors. The new Board Members are Samuel Delgado, of Newark and Luis O. De La Hoz, of Edison. The new Board Members assumed their roles after a vote by the entire board.
Delgado is Vice-President of External Affairs for Verizon New Jersey. He is a graduate of Marist College and enjoyed a long career with the Marine Corps as a Combat Communications Officer and Military Advisor before joining Verizon. He has served on numerous Boards specifically targeted to support Newark and New Jersey as a whole.
De La Hoz is a Consultant at his own firm, Latino Small Business, which works to guide fellow entrepreneurs and small businesses. He works with The Intersect Fund as a Loan Officer and manages his own tax preparation company as well. De La Hoz holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from the University of Autonoma in Manizales, Colombia, and a certificate in Management from the University of the Andes in Bogotá, Colombia.
"Our vision, strategy and main goal is to seek new and innovative ways to foster growth and success for the thousands of small and Hispanic-owned businesses in New Jersey," said Medina. "The addition of these gentlemen to the Board underlines the fact that SHCC-NJ is committed more than ever to continue to serve as the leading voice and advocate for small and Hispanic businesses in our state."
