“It has been an extensive, exacting process to find the right leader for one of our most important agencies,” said Cynthia McFarlane, Chairman/CEO of Latin America and Multicultural USA. “Gloriana’s strong leadership and experience with complex global businesses will be a valuable asset to our aggressive growth plans and a perfect complement to our world-class creative operation.”
López-Lay was most recently SVP, Global Account Director for Grey Advertising, where she led the $3 billion global Pantene business. During that time she created an agency in itself and pioneered the client’s global multi-brand management and global compensation scale and process models. She has also held senior posts at WPP’s Wing Latino in the U.S. and Grey Advertising in Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The addition of López-Lay fills the void created by the elevation of agency founder Pablo Del Campo to Chief Creative Officer of Saatchi & Saatchi Worldwide. He continues to play a pivotal role in the agency that bears his name as its Chairman. “After several months of change, I’m very excited that we now have the final piece to the puzzle,” said Pablo Del Campo. “Gloriana will make a fantastic leader and partner for our new leadership team, which includes Executive Creative Directors Ariel Serkin, Juan Pablo Lufrano and Rafael Santamarina, who joined the agency in August.“
Commenting on her new role, Gloriana López-Lay said, “The work happening throughout Latin America, and within Argentina in particular, is arguably the strongest in the world. Del Campo Saatchi & Saatchi is among the leaders of a very elite group of agencies. I’m energized by the challenge of steering the business direction of the best of the best, and opening a new chapter in its continuing story.”
